My passion is bird dogs and bird hunting; this obsession has led to my career which allows me to work hands-on with upland game birds and bird dogs. I obtained a Master's Degree in Upland Game Ecology studying chukar partridge in the Western United States which ultimately led to my current position as the Upland Game Biologist for the North Dakota Game and Fish. I have owned, trained, and bred Shorthairs for the last 20 years, during that time I've been able to observe and recognize the traits that produce the best hunting dogs. Breeding is the difference between a good dog and a great dog, training only enhances the natural instinct bred into the dog, thus I have chosen my dogs from proven field trial lines that have shown the desire and drive necessary for a successful hunting dog.
Located in Southwestern North Dakota we are surrounded by the best pheasant hunting in the northern prairies. I train almost exclusively on wild pheasant, sharp-tails, and Huns. I mentored under Hall of Fame trainer Dave Walker, and have adopted a similar training method which will enhances the dogs’ ability and also fix many problems such as blinking birds, cat-walking, working birds too close and many other problems. I am also a Pro Staff member for SportDog Brand electronic collars which are an important tool used to maximize my training technique.
My goal is to produce bird dogs that owners can brag about!!!!
